I guess it’s true what they say; first comes love, then comes marriage and now here come Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence with the baby carriage, well kind of, in the sequel to “Boy Meets World.”
After weeks of speculation both Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel confirmed that they will reprise their roles as Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence-Matthews from the popular Disney 1990’s show “Boy Meets World” but this time as parents in the sequel series “Girl Meets World.” The new series will be produced by the original series head man Michael Jacobs and will surround the upbringings of Riley Matthews, Cory and Topanga’s preteen daughter.
Savage shared his excitement for the upcoming project via Twitter by tweeting, “I’m going to be a father! Well, on TV at least. The “Boy Meets World” sequel is officially happening.” Fishel also shared her joy of reprising her role by composing a blog post to fans sharing all the details she knew of so far regarding the new show.
“I do not know how many BMW cast members will be returning for GMW, or how often they may appear if and/or when they do appear. I am going to do my best to not speak for others with this open post. But because I have known Michael Jacobs, Ben Savage, Rider Strong, Will Friedle, and Bill Daniels for 19 years, I know we share many of the same feelings regarding the 7 wonderful years we spent making BMW,” Fishel shared on her blog.
I was a little hesitant of this show being brought back but now that Ben and Danielle have signed on I’m sort of excited! With much of the original writers and actors from BMW I think this show could actually have a chance!
How do you feel about “Boy Meets World” coming back?
