Trailer Thursday: The Host

“Mama Twilight” Stephenie Meyer is kissing her sparkly vampires and shirtless werewolves goodbye and introducing the world to her next series of out of the ordinary characters with “The Host.”

Based on another series of novels, The Host, has been turned into a motion picture film and after years of production the film is finally set to released March 29, 2013. This time around the love story in this film has a different take on the Twi love triangle but let me back up. The premise behind “The Host” is simple enough; in a future world human bodies have been invaded by an alien kind. The human memories are wiped out and the bodies now serve as a hosting organism for the new alien race.

Melanie Stryder (Saoirse Ronan) is one of few humans left on Earth that has managed to stay under the radar of The Seeker (Diane Kruger) and the rest of the aliens maintaining their new race. Melanie meets Jared Howe (Max Irons) another human and the two fall in love only to have Melanie “killed” as she tries to escape from aliens trying to make her one of them. A new “soul”, Wanderer, has now invaded Melanie’s body but somehow a part of her stills exist, the emotional side of her. Wanderer and Melanie may have more in common then they think. Sounds confusing? The trailer kind of explains it better and is much more entertaining.

But will this new series be as successful as The Twilight Saga? Check out the trailer below and you be the judge! Will you be invaded by Stephenie Meyer’s new series “The Host?”

  1. I think it’s not a series of novels, it’s only one. 🙂
