Fashion Friday: Barney’s Meets Disney

Goofy, Minnie and Daisy; is that you?!

Are you as excited as I am about the make over three of Disney’s classic characters received thanks to fashion house Barney’s? Minnie Mouse, Goofy Goof and Daisy Duck have been stretched, glammed and pampered to fit the new campaign Barney’s has in store for later this year.

On November 14 we’ll even be able to see these three come to life in a more couture way. The Madison Avenue store in New York City will transform their window displays into a Disney Electric Holiday  consisting of a 3-D light show and a live runway featuring a few of Disney’s icons.

Other classic Disney characters getting the super chic make over in designer clothes are: Mickey (dressed by Nicolas Ghesquière for Balenciaga), Cruella DeVille (dressed by Rick Owens), Princess Tiana (dressed by Proenza Schouler) and Snow White (dressed by Peter Copping for Nina Ricci).

I for one would have loved to see ALL Disney’s princesses stretched to become 5- foot 11 Barney’s model and see them strut down the runway. [CC: Barney’s Creative Director this memo.]

Check on the full scoop here. Do you like the updated Disney characters?

  1. A little disturbing they had to lose 50% of their body weight and double in height to be fashionable…

  2. There’s actually a Change.org petition to stop this ridiculous campaign.
